      Was missing the 4mm screw that attaches the lower end of the strut to piston. Minor fly in the ointment but is the reason for the Good rating on quality. Bought...read moreWas missing the 4mm screw that attaches the lower end of the strut to piston. Minor fly in the ointment but is the reason for the Good rating on quality. Bought this because I own the Freewing Mustang and am familiar with this gear. Am going to be using this as an almost scale facsimile to the nose strut on a 1/9 scale A-26 Invader.

      The FW P51-D retracts are NOT suiable for the FL P-38

      I read a post where the person said you could use the Freewing P51-D struts as a substitute for the Flight Line P-38 upgraded struts which were out of stock....read moreI read a post where the person said you could use the Freewing P51-D struts as a substitute for the Flight Line P-38 upgraded struts which were out of stock. This is NOT true. The nose gear is OK, but the mains are way off. I sent them back and purchased the P-38 gear which is now in stock and was actually cheaper than purchasing the individual P-51 struts. btw... there is nothing wrong with the P-51 struts they are actually quite nice!
